Throwing Knife Physics

so I've been giving the throwing knives a bit of practice lately and.....
god i'm terrible. even at close range, with an enemy's back just a few inches away, i miss every time.

i know it's just me, because i've gotten a throwing knife to the face from halfway across the map. are there tricks to this i don't know about? what am i missing?

The knife can bounce, and it arches, you have to have it pretty dead center of your screen , next time hold it down for a second so you can see the aiming line.

Use a supressed weapon. Pwns the throwing knife IMHO, especially if TAR.

Id say the majority of mine have been luck. That is to say, Ive meant to hit the opponent (Just never actually expected to )

Ive killed Kristoffer and Treb in private games with beauty knife throws, but never managed to do it on purpose in the heat of battle. I guess it takes practice. I'll never do the 360's that Otis and Syn can do, If I can hit them from 10 yards, thats a result for me!!!

I've finished the carnal challenge, the problem with the throwing knive is knowing when to use it. Too many times i died trying to run head on. Best hitting them when their running or camping. It gets easier the more times you do it so just stick with it.

Haven't used them much but I do know they have the same arc as a frag/semtex. So if you're good at placing your frags then you should be good at throwing knives with a little practice.

ha! the same arc? really? that must be what i've been doing wrong. when i've tried throwing it as i think it should work, it ends up in my shoe. i've had a lot more luck sticking people with semtex than getting a throwing knife kill; guess i have to treat them the same!

and OP, the arc of the knife is very sharp. it will bounce off the ground once, so its ok to be a little short, but you really need to practice in a private match. pick a wall and a spot you want to hit, then practice hitting that spot from different distances. from farther distances you have to throw at like a 45 degree angle.

when throwing at a target above or below you, you dont have to aim as high, because the arc flattens out.
